Located at the north end of La Cygnes Lake in Linn Valley, this Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism-maintained ramp provides convenient access to the main body of the lake. The ramp is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore North Sugar Creek and the broader lake system. For winter conditions or seasonal access questions, contact Linn County Park at 913-757-6633.
The surrounding area offers excellent recreational opportunities, including proximity to the Marais des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1992 to preserve bottomland hardwood forest. During colder months, paddlers should note that the warm-water discharge area on the east side of the lake becomes a notable feature, with a walk-in trail providing access to the hot water outlet—a premier fishing and wildlife viewing spot when other areas freeze. Multiple other ramps are available throughout the lake system, offering flexibility for different paddling routes and access points.
