About This Access Site
The Lake Apopka North Shore Boat Ramp is a well-maintained, paddler-friendly access point located on the Apopka-Beauclaire Canal in Lake County. The facility features newly constructed boat ramps, a dedicated kayak launch, and a dock, making it ideal for launching canoes, kayaks, and motorboats. In addition to water access, the site offers amenities including restrooms and a picnic area, providing a comfortable base for a day on the water.

From this launch, paddlers can access the north shore of Lake Apopka and the Beauclaire Canal, which connects to the Harris Chain of Lakes—offering excellent opportunities for both short and extended paddling trips. A popular route involves a 5-mile round trip to the north shore of Lake Apopka. Note that motorized vehicle access to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is limited to Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays, though motorboat, canoe, and kayak launching at McDonald Canal is available during normal operating hours.
