About This Access Site
West Ashtabula Crossing is a two-lane boat launch facility located on the west side of Lake Ashtabula, positioned at the west end of the 118th Avenue SE Bridge near Dazey. This is one of seven maintained boat ramps around the lake, making it a convenient access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the mid-lake area. The site includes a fishing pier and fish cleaning station, with nearby amenities including drinking water and restroom facilities.

Note that some gravel road travel is required to reach this launch. The area is part of the larger Ashtabula Lake recreation area, which sits in North Dakota's prairie pothole country and offers excellent opportunities for fishing, paddling, and water recreation. Additional amenities are available throughout the lake system, including camping, picnic areas, and dining options at nearby locations.
