Located near Stringtown in Atoka County, the Lake Atoka Reservoir boat ramp provides convenient access to this 5,900-acre impoundment on North Boggy Creek in southeastern Oklahoma. The primary launch is easily found by turning west from Highway 69 onto Highway 43 just north of Atoka (about a mile north of the correctional center)—the ramp entrance is on the left side of the road. The lake features 59 miles of scenic shoreline, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating.
The site offers solid recreational infrastructure with a dedicated boat ramp, fishing pier, picnic area, and playground. Primitive camping facilities are available on-site for both tent and RV camping, making it a good base for multi-day paddling trips. The Lake Atoka Reservation Association manages the facility as a public trust resource. Paddlers should note that this is a reservoir rather than flowing water, so conditions are generally calm and suitable for recreational paddling of varying skill levels.
