Located in Minneapolis, the Lake Bde Maka Ska boat ramp provides convenient public access to this popular urban lake. The site features excellent parking, restroom facilities, and picnic areas. A paved trail circles the lake with multiple grassy access points along the water's edge. Note that from May 1 to December 1, all watercraft and water-related equipment using this launch must undergo aquatic invasive species (AIS) inspection. Canoe rentals are available on-site for those without their own boats.
This is a prime destination for fishing, particularly for muskies, bass, and walleyes in early summer and fall. Beyond paddling, the lake offers a swimming beach, playground, and walking paths for additional recreation. The site is easily accessible via public transit, with MTC bus routes 6, 28, 17, and 12 within two blocks of the lake.
