About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Lake Beshear Boat Ramp, operated by Redden's, is located near Dawson Springs in Caldwell County and provides the only public boat access to this relatively quiet, lesser-known reservoir. To reach the ramp, take US 62 east of Princeton and turn right on KY 672 toward the lake. The site is approximately 30 miles east of Lake Barkley.

**Facilities & Use:** This is a straightforward boat launch facility with a modest $3 launch fee. The ramp provides access to Lake Beshear, as well as connections to Piney Creek and the Tradewater River system. Given its location in the Cumberland Plateau region of the Appalachian Mountains, paddlers and boaters can expect a scenic setting in a less-crowded area compared to major regional lakes.

**Best For:** This access point works well for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboat operators seeking a more remote paddling or fishing experience. The lack of crowds and alternative access points makes planning ahead worthwhile—contact the ramp operator ahead of time if you have specific questions about current conditions or facilities.
