About This Access Site
Located in Cochituate State Park, this boat ramp provides access to Lake Cochituate and Snake Brook for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The facility features dedicated boat trailer parking, a drop-off area for unloading gear, and is designed to be ADA-accessible with dedicated parking, ramps, and accessible boat launch points. A secondary entrance is available when the main gate is closed, directing users to an additional large parking lot near the boat ramp area.

**Important regulations and fees:** Daily parking fees apply (May 24–Oct. 13). The facility enforces a 5 mph speed limit on weekends, holidays, and within 150 feet of the ramp, shore, moorings, and swim areas. Note that Lake Cochituate's three interconnected lakes are all accessible by boat, with South Lake being a popular destination. The facility may close once capacity is reached, so check DCR Park Alerts before visiting during peak times. Located just 20 miles west of Boston, this site provides convenient access to scenic paddling and is near the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge and Charles River areas for additional exploring opportunities.
