The Berthold access site on Lake Darling provides boat ramp access to this popular North Dakota reservoir located in Renville County near the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge. This location serves as one of six public boat ramps available on Lake Darling, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the 23,000-acre impoundment of the Souris River.
Paddlers should note that motorized fishing boats are permitted on Lake Darling from May 1 through September 30, with the boating season running from Highway 28 south to Lake Darling Dam. The site is situated in the Berthold area on the eastern side of the lake. For complete information on current conditions, amenities (such as parking, restrooms, and camping facilities), and any access fees or permits, contact local management or visit the official North Dakota Parks and Recreation website before your visit.
