Lake Elsie

Lake Elsie is a 377-acre lake located three miles northwest of Hankinson in Richland County, offering a well-developed access point for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The lake features approximately 5 miles of shoreline, providing moderate paddling opportunities for various skill levels. The boat ramp area includes a trailer parking lot and dock facilities to accommodate launch and recovery operations.

The access site is situated within the Sheyenne National Grassland and serves as part of a larger recreation area. Nearby amenities include 15 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, a picnic shelter, and an 8-mile loop trail system (Hankinson Hills Trail).
