Lake Icaria's northwest access point provides convenient entry to this 648-acre reservoir located just 4 miles north of Corning in Adams County. The ramp is easily accessible from Iowa Highway 148 and offers a good launch point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the lake's calm waters. The lake's maximum depth of 30 feet makes it suitable for various water activities, though be aware that jet skis and jet boats are prohibited—only outboard motors and inboard-outboards are permitted.
The larger Lake Icaria park facility offers substantial amenities including over 1,900 acres of grounds, multiple campsites with and without electricity, cabin rentals, and additional boat ramps on the south side of the lake if you prefer alternate access points. Paddlers should expect decent facilities and parking at this location. The lake is fed by Walters Creek in the northwest corner, providing scenic water access for recreational boating and paddling throughout the reservoir.
