Located off FM 2461 in Eastland, the Lake Leon Dam boat ramp is a straightforward, single-lane concrete launch operated by the Eastland County Water Supply District. This is a year-round access point to Lake Leon on the Leon River, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The ramp provides access to a scenic reservoir with diverse water features including creek channels, standing timber, aquatic vegetation, and rocky areas—ideal for exploring multiple paddling environments.
The surrounding area offers good amenities for a full day on the water. Picnic sites, a bait shop, and ADA-accessible fishing piers are available near the ramp. Two public boat ramps with camping areas and several private recreational facilities operate around the lake. Before launching, check current lake levels on the Texas Water Data for Texas reservoirs page, as water conditions can vary seasonally. Shore fishing access is limited to areas around the boat ramps and parks, so plan your paddling accordingly if you're exploring by kayak or canoe.
