About This Access Site
This boat ramp provides access to the Trinity River immediately below Lake Livingston Dam in the San Jacinto County area near West Livingston. The ramp is located on the left (east) bank of the river on Trinity River Authority land. This is a popular launch point for paddlers and boaters exploring the lower Trinity River, with relatively easy vehicle and boat access compared to other area launches.

**What to Expect:** The tailwaters below the dam can experience significant water level and flow fluctuations depending on dam operations. Water conditions vary from calm stretches to stronger currents—check current flow releases before launching. The area has basic amenities including restrooms and boat ramp access. Be aware that alligators are present in these waters, so exercise appropriate caution. Nearby Huffman Creek enters on the right bank approximately 7 miles downriver and is reportedly floatable at normal water levels, offering exploration options for paddlers.

**Nearby Alternative:** Tigerville Park in Livingston offers a free public boat ramp as an alternative access point if conditions at the dam tailwaters are unfavorable. For camping and additional facilities, Double Lake Recreation Area is located northeast of the area and offers RV and tent sites (reservations available; 936-653-3448).
