Filburn's Picnic Area provides convenient access to 1,655-acre Lake Loramie via one of six boat launch ramps scattered around the lake. This ramp is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats of all sizes, as there are no horsepower restrictions on the water. An adaptive launch is also available for pontoon and paddle boats, making this site accessible for various vessel types and paddlers of different abilities.
Lake Loramie is a no-wake zone with the exception of a designated speed zone on the west end, making it generally calm and suitable for paddling. The Filburn's location offers direct access to picnic areas with tables and grills, and a 600-foot sandy beach nearby for swimming. Additional amenities throughout the park include eight miles of hiking trails and seasonal dock rentals. This is an excellent entry point for a relaxing day on the water with good facilities and a predictable, controlled paddling environment.
