About This Access Site
The Lower Lake Mary Picnic Area provides public access to Lake Mary, a popular fishing and recreation destination in the Coconino National Forest. The site features a concrete boat ramp that allows easy launching for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats.

When Lake Mary has water, it's a good spot to fish for stocked trout and catfish. The lake can be dry at times, in which case the area is still popular for other activities like kite flying. Picnic tables, grills, and composting toilets are available on-site, and a nearby campground (Lakeview Campground) offers overnight accommodations.

The access road is paved and the site is located about 8 miles southeast of Flagstaff at an elevation of 7,000 feet. The boat ramp and picnic area are gated and closed in the winter, but visitors can still access the site on foot to fish or enjoy the scenery. Overall, this is a convenient, family-friendly access point to explore the waters of Lake Mary.
