Lake Mooney Park

Lake Mooney Park provides a convenient boat ramp and canoe launch for accessing the 240-acre Lake Mooney Reservoir. The boat ramp is suitable for small, electric-powered watercraft only - no gas motors are permitted. Paddlers will find the lake offers a scenic, peaceful setting for canoeing and kayaking.

The access site is open from 8 AM to 8 PM during the peak season of mid-March through October 31, with reduced hours of 8 AM to 5:30 PM from November 1 through mid-March. Restroom facilities are available on-site. A Virginia state fishing license is required for anglers hoping to target the bass, catfish, sunfish, and crappie that were stocked in the lake. Hikers can also enjoy a 2.09-mile trail around the lake's perimeter. Overall, Lake Mooney Park provides a well-equipped launch point for small, non-motorized boaters and paddlers to enjoy this scenic Stafford County reservoir.
