About This Access Site
The DEC public boat launch on Lake Placid offers free access via a hard-surface ramp located off Route 86 on Mirror Lake Drive in the village of Lake Placid. The facility features a boarding dock and parking for 25 vehicles and trailers, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The launch is accessible for persons with disabilities.

This is an excellent access point for exploring the scenic Lake Placid area. The hard-surface ramp provides reliable float-on and float-off launching conditions suitable for all boat types, from kayaks and canoes to larger trailered vessels. The proximity to Route 86 and central village location makes it easy to find and access, though paddlers should be aware of typical lake traffic during peak season.

As with all regional waterways, users are encouraged to follow invasive species prevention protocols to help protect the lake's ecosystem.
