This free public boat ramp provides access to Lake Placid on the Guadalupe River in Seguin, located conveniently off Exit 605 of Interstate 10. The ramp sits under the I-10 bridge, making it easily accessible for kayakers, canoeists, and powerboaters. The lake features maximum depths of 30-35 feet near the dam and offers a good-sized water body for various paddling activities.
Before launching, be aware that aquatic vegetation including water hyacinth, water lettuce, and hydrilla are present in the lake. Most importantly, paddlers must clean, drain, and dry all boats, trailers, and gear before leaving—draining water is required by law to prevent the spread of invasive zebra mussels. This access point serves as the only free public boat launch on Lake Placid, making it the primary option for paddlers and boaters in the area.
