About This Access Site
The Lake Road boat ramp in Lacombe offers free public access to Bayou Lacombe, making it a popular launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized boats. Located at the southern end of Highway 434 (Lake Road), this access site features a paved ramp and gravel parking lot, providing convenient entry to the bayou's calm waters. The site is well-suited for recreational paddling and fishing activities.

From this launch, paddlers can explore two distinct paddling routes: westward into the winding channels of the bayou itself, or southward toward Lake Pontchartrain. The relatively protected waters of Bayou Lacombe make it accessible for paddlers of various skill levels. Nearby, Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge offers additional exploration opportunities along the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. To reach the ramp, take Highway 434 (Exit 74 from I-12) south to Lacombe, then continue south on Lake Road to the launch area.
