This popular day-use access point near Riverdale provides convenient boat ramp facilities to Lake Sakakawea, one of the largest reservoirs in the region. The state park features two boat ramps with courtesy docks: a multi-lane ramp on the west side and a single-lane ramp on the southeast side. The area also includes bathroom facilities and a fish cleaning station, making it well-suited for both paddlers and motorized boaters.
Lake Sakakawea offers expansive paddling opportunities across its 178-mile length and 1,340 miles of shoreline, providing scenic routes and numerous anchoring options. The access point is conveniently located just off Highway 200, making it easily accessible from the Riverdale area. Several reservable campgrounds are located within 10 miles, including East Totten Trail, Wolf Creek, and Downstream Campgrounds, making this an excellent base for multi-day trips. Note that water conditions and ramp usability may vary seasonally, particularly after heavy rain or flood events.
