About This Access Site
Lake Showme is a 225-acre public lake located two miles west of Memphis on Highway 136, then one mile south on Lake Showme Drive (gravel road). The site features a recently improved boat ramp with ADA accessibility, making it a reliable launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The access area is closed to general public use from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily, though boat launching and landing are permitted 24 hours a day in designated areas.

Boaters should note that outboard motors exceeding 10 horsepower are allowed but must be operated at slow, no-wake speeds. This calm-water lake is ideal for recreational paddling, fishing, and leisure boating. The gravel access road may be affected by weather conditions, so check conditions before visiting. Hunting, fishing, camping, and dog training are also permitted in designated areas on the property.
