Lake Tapps County Park is a popular boat launch and recreation area located on the north shore of Lake Tapps in Pierce County, Washington. The site features a dedicated boat ramp, bathrooms, and approximately 10,000 feet of waterfront access, making it an excellent launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The largely undeveloped 135-acre park also includes a sandy swimming area and offers scenic views of Mount Rainier to the south.
**Access & Reservations:** Online reservations are required and should be made in advance, as walk-up availability is not guaranteed and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be canceled up to 48 hours ahead for a full refund. Pierce County Parks no longer offers seasonal passes. **Additional Amenities:** The site provides ample bank access for fishing and launching. Nearby, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available from the Snack Shack. The area is also convenient to Mud Mountain Dam and the White River for those interested in exploring additional regional paddling opportunities.
