About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Lake Three is located near Marengo in Ashland County, Wisconsin, within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. From Mellen, take County Highway GG west for approximately 8 miles, then turn right onto Forest Service Road 187 (Mineral Lake Road) and continue 3 miles to the intersection with FR 198 (Pine Stump Corner). The ramp is currently open and provides public boat access.

**Paddling & Recreation:** Lake Three offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and leisurely boating in a scenic forest setting. The lake supports a healthy fishery with musky, bass, and pan fish, making it popular with anglers as well. The North Country National Scenic Trail is adjacent to the area, providing additional recreation opportunities for hikers and day-trippers exploring the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest's extensive trail system.
