About This Access Site
The Laurel access site provides boat ramp access to Laurel River Lake near Corbin in Whitley County. This ramp accesses the upper arm of the 5,600-acre lake, known as one of Kentucky's deepest and cleanest bodies of water. The lake features nearly 200 miles of tree-lined shoreline with quiet coves and scenic cliff-lined shores, making it an excellent destination for kayaking and canoeing seeking calm, protected paddling.

The lake sits within the Daniel Boone National Forest and offers diverse fishing opportunities for bass, trout, walleboat, crappie, and bluegill once you launch. Parking is available at the boat ramp. The area is easily accessed from I-75 (Exit 38), making it convenient for day trips. With seven boat ramps total on Laurel River Lake, this is one of several well-developed access points for exploring the lake's extensive shoreline and coves.

The quiet coves and cliff-lined shores offer relaxation and quiet reflection, as well as boating, fishing, skiing and scuba diving in one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Kentucky. Fishing for black bass, rainbow trout, walleye, crappie, blue gill and catfish is excellent. Night fishing for trout is also popular during the summer months.The U.S. Forest Service administers the lake and surrounding shoreline.
