Located in Yankton, South Dakota, the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area Marina provides access to Lower Lewis and Clark Lake, a major reservoir created by Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River. The facility features a four-lane boat ramp offering reliable water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. This recreation area is part of a larger complex that includes a full-service marina with amenities such as boat rentals, fuel docks, and onsite dining.
**Important Note:** The marina and boat ramp are closed to public access beginning September 11 through 2026 for a major renovation project. Before planning your visit, confirm current access status with the facility or South Dakota Parks and Recreation. When operations resume, paddlers can expect convenient launching facilities and nearby camping options at Pierson Ranch Camp and Green Island Primitive Camping within 10 miles. The area also provides proximity to the scenic Missouri National Recreational River and additional recreational trails within the Lewis and Clark recreation area.
