About This Access Site
Located in Parking Lot 2 at Liberty State Park, this boat launch provides straightforward access to the Upper Bay of the Hudson River. The ramp accommodates trailered boats and is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. year-round. A mandatory permit is required—seasonal passes cost $106, or daily passes are available for $9.75 with no residency restrictions. Note that the maximum trailer length is 23 feet.

**Important tidal considerations:** At low tide, stay within the marked green buoys and designated channel to avoid running aground. The cove and channel remain navigable at low tide, but venturing outside the buoys creates grounding hazards. This location offers easy access to explore the Hudson River's Upper Bay waters and nearby points of interest, including views of Liberty Island and Ellis Island. The park is also accessible via NJ Transit's Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, making it convenient for those without vehicle access.
