About This Access Site
Lieber State Recreation Area offers boat ramp access to Cagles Mill Lake, Indiana's first flood control reservoir created in 1952. The 1,400-acre lake provides a scenic setting for kayaking, canoeing, and recreational boating. Two boat ramp locations are available within the park, with the main public access ramp located just west of the Highway 46 bridge. This free public access point makes it convenient for launching small watercraft.

Beyond the water, Lieber SRA is a well-developed recreation area with amenities including a family aquatic center, marina with mooring and supplies, hiking trails, fishing opportunities, and a full campground. The park encompasses 8,075 acres and includes notable features like the scenic Cataract Falls. The lake's calm, reservoir-style waters make it suitable for beginners and families, though conditions can vary seasonally. Visitors should check current park conditions and any seasonal restrictions before visiting, particularly if planning to fish or hunt during designated seasons.
