About This Access Site
Little Carr provides the primary boat access to Carr Creek Lake, a scenic mountain reservoir located in southeastern Kentucky's Knott County near Hazard and Whitesburg. The ramp is situated at the head of the lake off KY-160 and serves kayakers, canoeists, and larger boats looking to explore the 472-acre lake. Note that this ramp closes seasonally when the lake is at winter pool, so check conditions before planning your trip.

The area is ideal for a full outdoor experience. In addition to paddling and boating, Carr Creek Lake offers fishing for crappie, bass, bluegill, and walleye, plus swimming opportunities. Littcarr Campground is located on the lake's shores and provides camping facilities with reservations available through Recreation.gov (phone: 606-642-3052). A short nature trail is also available for hiking. Restroom facilities are present near the main areas.

**Getting There:** From I-75, take Exit 38 (SR-192) east to Daniel Boone Parkway, then SR-15 south to SR-160. Turn north on SR-160 and follow for approximately 4 miles; the ramp is on the east side of the road. For more information, contact the Knott County Tourism Commission at 606-785-5592.
