About This Access Site
Little Hurricane Boat Ramp offers convenient access to the Ohio River near Owensboro with a **double-lane launching ramp** and ample parking for day-use visitors. The facility features floating docks and is open 24 hours daily, making it accessible for early morning and evening paddlers. The ramp is located at Ohio River mile marker 760.2 (Left Descending Bank), positioned within the Newburgh Pool navigation project area.

To reach the ramp from Owensboro, take US 60 West for approximately 3 miles, then turn right on Industrial Drive (Highway 331) and right again on Little Hurricane Road. This section of the Ohio River is a major navigational channel, so paddlers and boaters should expect commercial traffic and be aware of lock and dam operations in the area. The John T. Myers Locks and Dam is located about 3.5 miles downstream. The facility is well-suited for both kayakers and larger motorboats, with good ratings from users. Check current water conditions and river levels before paddling, as the Ohio River can experience significant fluctuations.
