About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Lizard Lake is located 2 miles west of Gilmore City on Highway 3, then 5½ miles south on 320th Ave in Pocahontas County. The site offers a hard surface boat ramp providing convenient access to this 275-acre shallow-bottom lake and adjacent wetland area.

**Facilities & Amenities:** The access area features a modern shower house, public fishing dock, picnic area, and beach. The adjacent 5-site campground offers full hookups (50-Amp electric and water) plus a septic dump station, making this a good option for paddlers planning an overnight trip. Accessible facilities and restrooms are available on-site. The lake's shallow bottom makes it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and recreational boaters exploring both open water and wetland areas.

**Fishing & Wildlife:** Lizard Lake has been actively managed for fishing with recent yellow perch stockings following lake renovation. The site's historical significance—including old Indian Mounds—adds cultural interest to paddling visits. For current fishing information and lake conditions, contact the local fisheries management biologist.
