About This Access Site
Lone Rock Unit #1 provides boat ramp access to Cruson Slough in Richland County, a large slough system known for its abundant marshes and wildlife viewing opportunities. This access point is part of the Cruson Slough/Smith Slough complex, which features multiple public access points throughout the area, making it ideal for kayakers and canoeists exploring the interconnected waterways of the region.

The slough offers shallow, calm paddling conditions suitable for recreational boaters of all skill levels. Nearby Long Lake (1.5 miles of navigable water) is accessible via connections through the system and features natural springs, though paddlers should be aware of easy-to-portage shallow rapids near Highway 133. The area is excellent for wildlife observation and exploring scenic marshes at a leisurely pace.

For detailed information about facilities, seasonal availability, and current conditions, consult the Wisconsin DNR boat access database at http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/Lands/boataccess/ or contact Richland County Parks and Recreation.
