The Lone Star boat ramp provides access to Walnut Creek in Fillmore County near the town of Tobias. This concrete ramp and dock facility is located on the east shore and accommodates kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site is situated in Lone Star Park, making it a good base for day trips or longer paddling excursions on the creek.
To reach the ramp from the town of Lone Star, take US 259 south and turn left on FM 729 before the bridge at Big Cypress Creek; the ramp access road is approximately 1 mile south of this intersection. As with many Nebraska water access points, water levels and ramp conditions can vary significantly week to week, so it's recommended to call ahead to area managers for current conditions before making the trip.
