Long Lake

Long Lake offers convenient water access via a WDFW-operated boat launch located near the Thurston County Fairgrounds in Lacey. To reach the ramp, turn north onto Boat Launch Street SE from Carpenter Road at the east end of the fairgrounds. The facility includes a standard boat ramp suitable for trailer launches, two toilets, and some shore fishing access nearby. Note that ramp conditions can become slick during busy periods, so use caution when launching.

This calm-water lake supports diverse recreational fishing opportunities, including yellow perch, pumpkinseed sunfish, largemouth bass, rock bass, brown bullhead catfish, and common carp—making it popular with anglers as well as paddlers. The lake is well-suited for kayakers and canoeists seeking a peaceful paddling experience. The nearby Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge adds to the area's appeal for nature-focused water recreation.
