Located off KY 1274 on the narrow northern section of Cave Run Lake near Frenchburg, Longbow is a convenient access point for paddlers and boaters exploring this 8,270-acre reservoir. The ramp sits within the scenic Daniel Boone National Forest and provides parking facilities for day-use visitors. Longbow Marina is adjacent to the ramp, offering boat slip rentals and full-service fuel if needed, plus boat rentals are available for those without their own watercraft.
Cave Run Lake offers excellent paddling opportunities with relatively calm, protected waters ideal for kayaking and canoeing. The lake features 12 accessible boat ramps throughout, so you can explore multiple launch points. The surrounding shoreline is heavily forested, providing scenic views and wildlife viewing opportunities. Three reservable boat-in campgrounds are located within 10 miles (Claylick, Twin Knobs, and Boat Gunnel Group), making extended paddling trips feasible.
**Getting there:** From I-64 (Exit 133), head south on KY 801 until it merges onto KY 1274. Turn right onto Longbow Road and follow signs to the ramp. This location works well as either a day-use access point or a base camp for exploring the broader Cave Run Lake system.
