The Lonnie White access site (also known as James R. Hines Boat Landing Park) provides a convenient put-in for paddlers and boaters on the Barren River near Bowling Green. Located just outside the city limits at 1435 NW Bowling Green on Boat Landing Road, this facility features a single-lane concrete ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. The site also includes bank fishing areas, making it a multi-use recreation spot.
This is a solid starting point for paddling excursions on the Barren River. Before launching, paddlers should check current water conditions and flow levels, as river conditions can vary seasonally. The concrete ramp provides reliable access for hand-launching kayaks and canoes as well as loading/unloading small watercraft. Plan accordingly for parking and allow time to scout conditions before heading out on the water.
