Lucerne Valley

The Lucerne Valley Boat Ramp provides easy access to the Flaming Gorge Reservoir on the Green River in northeastern Utah. The ramp is located within the Lucerne Campground, a popular recreation area managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

This is an excellent put-in point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats looking to explore the scenic Flaming Gorge area. The reservoir offers calm, protected waters ideal for paddling, with the ramp providing a stable launch site. Nearby amenities include a marina with boat rentals, fuel, supplies, and a fish cleaning station. Campers can also take advantage of the adjacent Lucerne Campground, which offers 161 reservable sites.

For those coming from the Manila area, follow Highway 43 north for 2.6 miles to the Wyoming border, then continue on Wyoming Highway 530 for 1.3 miles before turning right onto Lucerne Valley Road/Forest Road 146. Continue approximately 4 miles to reach the campground and boat ramp. Paddlers and boaters should review the Flaming Gorge Reservoir's characteristics, including its large size and fluctuating water levels, to plan a safe and enjoyable outing.

This large, recently renovated campground offers nearly 140 sites campsites, many of which are accessible and have electric hookups. One group site (site B) in the G Loop is available.Sites in Loops A through D each have a picnic table, campfire ring (no grill), windbreak, electric hookups (30-50 amp) and parking spur. Loop D also has tent pads and shade cabanas. Loops E and F have shade cabanas, picnic tables and campfire rings but no electric hookups.Flush toilets, drinking water and showers are available throughout the campground. A dump station is located on-site.
Natural Features
The campground is situated in a high desert landscape with sagebrush and a few scattered trees. Natural shade is minimal. Typical weather ranges from warm days to cool nights.

Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits.
