About This Access Site
Located in Bear, Delaware, Lums Pond State Park offers convenient access to Delaware's largest freshwater millpond via a dedicated boat launching ramp and two piers. The 200-acre pond is surrounded by scenic oak and poplar woodland, making it an ideal destination for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters seeking a calm-water paddling experience. The park also provides boat rentals for those without their own watercraft.

This full-service recreation area caters to paddlers and anglers alike, with excellent fishing opportunities and diverse wildlife viewing—particularly for bird and turtle watching. Note that swimming is not permitted on the pond. Beyond water access, Lums Pond State Park offers over 10 miles of trails, a nature center, zip-line courses, equestrian facilities, and camping options, making it an excellent choice for a full day of family recreation or a weekend getaway.
