About This Access Site
The Main Street boat ramp in Au Gres provides excellent access to the Au Gres River and Saginaw Bay with impressive facilities for paddlers and boaters. Located at the end of Main Street (follow US 23 North to Au Gres, then turn south on Main Street), this state-owned, city-maintained access features 4 boat ramps capable of launching 8 boats simultaneously. The site includes restrooms, a public pier, and is situated within Riverside Park, making it a well-developed hub for water recreation.

This access point works well for both motorboats and non-motorized craft like kayaks and canoes. The park also offers amenities including a splash pad, playscape, nearby farmers market, and proximity to downtown dining and shopping. For paddlers interested in exploring beyond the immediate launch area, the Au Gres River connects to Saginaw Bay, offering varied paddling opportunities. For information about boat slip reservations, pavilion rentals, or seasonal updates, contact the City of Au Gres Parks Department at 989-876-8310.
