About This Access Site
**Access & Parking:** Main Street Town Landing is located on Route 133 in the center of Essex and provides direct access to the Essex River. **Important: This ramp is restricted to Essex residents only.** All vehicles must display a valid resident parking or transfer station sticker. Non-residents are not permitted to launch or park here, even during winter months. Resident parking is located behind the fire station (north on Route 133, take the left fork; the station is a couple hundred feet on the left).

**Location & Nearby Paddling:** The ramp sits at the end of Town Landing Road and offers convenient access to the Essex River system. The site is within the Essex National Heritage Area, a 500-square-mile region of eastern Massachusetts featuring diverse natural and cultural resources. Paddlers interested in nearby protected habitats can explore the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1941 and encompassing over 4,700 acres of upland and wetland habitats, sandy beaches, and dunes just south of Essex.

**Note:** If you're a non-resident paddler, you'll need to find alternative access points in the area, such as other landings on nearby rivers like the Annisquam.
