Mallard's Landing

**Location & Access:** Mallard's Landing is situated on the Bighorn River near Saint Xavier in Big Horn County, Montana, providing access to the upper Bighorn River. The site features a functional boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats.

**Facilities & Camping:** This primitive access site offers vault toilet facilities and a boat launch. Camping is permitted with a 7-day stay limit, and the site can accommodate small to medium RVs on the gravel area, with additional turnaround space available on nearby dirt roads. Note that there is no water service at the site, and cell reception is limited. A day-use fee applies.

**For Paddlers:** Mallard's Landing serves as an excellent put-in for floating and fishing trips on the upper Bighorn River. The site is open year-round and is heavily used by both recreational boaters and outfitters. If you're planning an extended trip, be aware that this location marks the termination point for many upper river floaters. The area offers good fishing opportunities and is conveniently located about 20-30 minutes from Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument if you're interested in combining your trip with cultural exploration.
