Mansfield Ramp is the primary boat launch for Cecil M. Harden Lake in Raccoon State Recreation Area near Rockville, Parke County. This is the most accessible launch point on the lake and serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the 1,100+ acres of water. The ramp is located within the recreation area, making it a convenient starting point for paddlers of all skill levels.
From Mansfield Ramp, paddlers can explore scenic shorelines and access several notable features, including the Payne Cemetery and multiple scenic overlooks along the south shore. A moderate 1.5-mile paddle route starts at the ramp and circles the peninsula past historic sites and vista points. The lake is particularly beautiful in fall during October's Covered Bridge Festival when Parke County's forest colors are vivid.
**Important note:** Winter access is limited—during winter months, lake access is available only at the main ramp inside Raccoon State Recreation Area. Plan your visit accordingly, and check current conditions before heading out.
