Mardon Resort offers a convenient boat launch onto Potholes Reservoir, a popular Central Washington destination located about 16 miles southwest of Moses Lake (I-90 Exit 179, near Othello). The resort features a well-maintained launch ramp designed for easy water access, along with full-service amenities including a marina, docks, tackle shop, and on-site lodging options (RV sites, cabins, and tent camping). This makes it an ideal base for extended paddling trips or day outings.
Potholes Reservoir is known for excellent fishing opportunities and is well-suited for boating and water recreation. The water body was created by O'Sullivan Dam as part of the Columbia Basin Project. Paddlers and boaters should note that the area is surrounded by additional recreation opportunities, including the Desert Wildlife Recreation Area with its network of smaller reservoirs, wetlands, and marshes—ideal for exploring if you're paddling in the region. The sunny, open terrain of Central Washington's high desert characterizes this area.
