About This Access Site
The Marina boat ramp at Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, Connecticut provides access to this large, scenic reservoir in western Connecticut. The paved ramp allows launching of trailered powerboats, as well as easy carry-in access for kayaks, canoes, and other small hand-powered craft.

Candlewood Lake is a popular destination for recreational boating, with over 60 miles of shoreline. The lake offers flat, calm waters ideal for paddling, fishing, and leisurely cruising. Depth can vary, so paddlers should be aware of conditions, especially near the boat ramp area. Nearby recreation areas like Weir Farm National Historical Park and Hunt Hill Farm provide additional opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.

The boat ramp has a gravel parking lot with around 35 spaces. Chemical toilets are available seasonally. The access road is paved, making it easy to transport boats and gear. While there is no disability access, the ramp itself is paved and suitable for most users. Boaters and paddlers should take the I-84 to Route 7 north, then take the Federal Road exit and head north on Candlewood Lake Road, turning left onto Nabby Road to reach the launch site.
