The Patterson Marina provides access to the Atchafalaya River in St. Mary Parish, located along LA 3177 (Atchafalaya River Highway). While this location is primarily developed as a marina facility rather than a dedicated boat launch, paddlers and boaters can use it as a jumping-off point to explore the massive Atchafalaya River Basin. The site is relatively easy to find from Interstate 10 (Exit 121), making it a convenient access point for those heading out onto the river.
**Note:** Current reports indicate that an actual boat ramp may not be operational at this exact location. Paddlers should verify conditions before arriving. A gravel boat ramp is located approximately 2 miles downstream on the east (left) bank at river mile 60.7 (Bayou Des Glaises area), which may serve as an alternative launch point. Given the Atchafalaya's size and the basin's extensive wetland system, this area is well-suited for kayakers and canoeists seeking to explore one of Louisiana's most significant river systems and associated wildlife viewing opportunities.
