About This Access Site
This municipal boat ramp provides access to Apponaug Cove and Greenwich Bay, offering paddlers and boaters easy entry to a scenic estuary area. The ramp connects to Narragansett Bay and beyond, with potential access to Newport and Block Island. However, be aware that the ramp has a notably shallow slope and limited facilities—there is no dedicated parking at this location, and the ramp is situated adjacent to a road. Due to these constraints, many boaters opt to use alternative ramps in the area, such as Ray's Bait & Tackle, which may offer more convenient amenities.

The site is located within proximity to significant recreational areas, including the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (encompassing nearly 4,400 acres across Prudence, Patience, Hope, and Dyer islands) and Roger Williams National Memorial. Kayakers and canoeists should plan ahead regarding parking and facilities, and may want to confirm current conditions before launching.
