Due to these constraints, many boaters opt to use alternative ramps in the area, such as Ray's Bait & Tackle, which may offer more convenient amenities.

The site is located within proximity to significant recreational areas, including the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (encompassing nearly 4,400 acres across Prudence, Patience, Hope, and Dyer islands) and Roger Williams National Memorial. Kayakers and canoeists should plan ahead regarding parking and facilities, and may want to confirm current conditions before launching.
