Wickford Cove Marina offers convenient access to central Narragansett Bay and is recognized as one of the premier hurricane holes on the eastern seaboard. The facility provides a full-service marina experience with dockside amenities in the charming seaside village of Wickford. For kayakers and canoeists launching easily-carried boats, look for the marshy beach approximately 150 feet to the west (left) of the main boat ramp, near the grassy area by the parking lot—this shallow-water launch is ideal for smaller watercraft.
Once on the water, paddlers have excellent access to the protected waters of Wickford Cove and the broader Narragansett Bay. When exiting the cove toward West Passage, watch for the breakwaters and follow navigation markers (green can 7 at Marker Point). The area features numerous moorings and two large marinas, making it a popular hub for recreational boating. Nearby recreation opportunities include access to the John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge and Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, adding excellent paddling and wildlife viewing destinations to your trip.
*Note: Check ahead for parking availability, as the main lot can fill during peak season. Additional parking is available in nearby lots and fields.*
