Matamoras

The Matamoras Access is a full-service boat ramp located on the Delaware River in Pike County, Pennsylvania, offering convenient facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The site features a paved boat ramp, parking area, mooring and docking facilities, trash disposal, and sanitary facilities. The access point is situated off Pennsylvania Route 549 (Delaware Drive) in front of the Westfall Township Municipal Building, just north of Matamoras—look for the nearby police station to orient yourself. This location provides an excellent starting point for exploring this major river system.

At this point on the Delaware River, paddlers should expect a large, powerful waterway with an average flow of over 30,000 cubic feet per second and a moderate gradient of 2.7 feet per mile. The river's major stream order (comparable to the Mississippi and Missouri) means it carries substantial current and volume.
