McConnelsville Wharf Park offers convenient access to Bell Creek and the Muskingum River in Morgan County. The facility features an on-site boat ramp with dock access, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger motorboats. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on-site for those without their own watercraft.
The Muskingum River is navigable from Dresden to Marietta, providing paddlers with extensive waterway options. Be aware that Lock #11 (Ellis) is currently closed, and the river channel from Dresden to Ellis is unmarked. Additional public launch ramps are available at Locks 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10 along the river system if you need alternative access points. The McConnelsville location is part of the Muskingum River Parkway State Park area, which also offers overnight camping facilities for those planning multi-day paddling trips.
