**Location & Access**
McDowell Dam Recreation Area is located five miles east of Bismarck on Old Highway 10 and one mile north. The 271-acre park offers a dedicated kayak launch and public boat ramp, making it easily accessible for paddlers and boaters of all skill levels. The lake itself is 51 acres with a maximum depth of 42 feet, suitable for recreational paddling and boating.
**Facilities & Regulations**
The ramp is restricted to electric motors only—no combustion engines are permitted. The site offers excellent amenities including a public beach, accessible parking and restrooms, and fishing piers. For those without their own equipment, paddle boats, paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks are available for rent on-site. The park features wheelchair-accessible entrances and facilities throughout.
