About This Access Site
McLeod Park offers a well-developed boat launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters on the Jourdan River in Kiln, MS. This is the primary access point for the Jourdan River Blueway and the northernmost ramp on the river, making it an essential starting point for paddlers exploring upstream. The launch provides safe water access to tranquil river conditions, with paddling routes leading past oxbow lakes, bluffs, artesian springs, and hardwood forests through Hancock County.

The park facilities are substantial, including full camping amenities with hookups, bathhouse facilities, splash pads, and a 1.25-mile nature trail along the riverbanks. For those without their own equipment, canoe rentals are available daily (with a $25 cash deposit for paddles and life jackets; rentals stop at 1:30 pm). Expect moderate boat traffic during warm weather months, particularly on weekends, as the park is popular for both paddling and general recreational activities.

**Note:** Online reservations for camping can fill quickly, so plan ahead if you're combining your paddle trip with an overnight stay.
