McNeil Park offers excellent public access to Bogue Sound with four launching ramps, making it a convenient hub for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility provides ample parking with 112 vehicle/trailer spaces plus an additional 18 single-vehicle parking spots, along with restrooms and a picnic area. Located on Oakleaf Drive just east of the Oakleaf Bridge in Pine Knoll Shores, the park borders Bogue Sound to the north and the Pine Knoll Waterway to the west.
Bogue Sound is a shallow estuary ideal for recreational paddling and fishing. The calm, protected waters make this access point particularly suitable for beginners and families exploring North Carolina's coastal estuarine system.
